Develop the Skills to Hold Space for Conflict

Mediation is a conflict resolution process in which a mutually acceptable and impartial third person assists people involved in a conflict or dispute. The mediator has no authority to impose a decision or determine the outcome. Instead, the mediator supports a structured process that helps participants communicate, clarify the matters that brought them to mediation, consider available options and work toward voluntary understandings or agreements when possible.

Kabrina W Bass Consulting provides mediation training to help individuals and local communities develop another way to engage conflict. Our training prepares participants to support conversations in which the people directly involved retain their voice, exercise self-determination, and make their own decisions about how they will manage or address the conflict.

The mediator is not the decision-maker. The mediator serves as the facilitator of the process.
